Welcome to Lorewell
Your files stay yours. Lorewell helps you read, understand, connect, and remember what is inside—without requiring an account or uploading your collection.
Each backend has a separate library. Switching saves the current reading position, then loads the target. Nothing is copied or deleted.
Use a short label, or leave it empty to show the reading position.
Portable highlights, notes, and bookmarks in the current storage library.
Save the current query, facet, and sort order in this storage library.
Validate the current storage library, rebuild its disposable catalog, or move originals and portable records in a documented Lorewell bundle.
A compact local encoder quietly processes queued books one at a time. Its first download is about 23 MB; no book text leaves this device.
Local endpoints stay on your machine. Remote BYOK runs only after its destination-specific provider consent and this background opt-in.
Edit portable work metadata. Source files are never modified.
Optional and on demand. Sends this ISBN, or the visible title and author, to Open Library. Never runs across the whole library.
These portable choices overlay derived concepts. Re-indexing can refresh evidence without erasing your label, visibility, or merge decision.
Typography applies to reflowable books and plain text. PDF pages retain their original layout.
Lorewell can run a private model entirely in this browser. NakliOS AI remains the first choice when the app is hosted. An OpenAI-compatible endpoint is an optional fallback.
The endpoint and model stay in this browser. The API key is session-only and is never written into a book, library export, or log.
Lorewell retrieves local passages first. The provider receives only those excerpts and must cite them as [S1], [S2], and so on.
